During La Lucana you will stay at the beautiful L'Assiolo olive farm, situated 10km from Matera in a nature reserve that is full of wildlife and greenery.
We're right next to the San Giuliano Lake and are surrounded by olive groves, orchards and stunning landscapes. All our electrical power is provided by a large array of solar panels.
During your free time you can take a stroll through the woods, borrow one of our bikes or even enjoy a spot of birdwatching.

We grow a range of delicious and fresh produce including, olives, egg- plants, oranges, cherries, watermelons and much, much more.

Using this fresh farm produce and other products from local businesses, Marisa and her team cook up some fantastic pastas, meat dishes and desserts that will leave you feeling full and happy.

Franco and Marisa opened L'Assiolo 13 years ago. They both shared a passion for moving into the countryside and opening up their very own agriturismo and bed & breakfast.

Pietro, Silvia and Greg are the architects of La Lucana and are passionate about creating a unique experience that brings travellers close to the Lucana way of life.
